F-22 Beddown Area Development Plan
- Other Federal
- Planning
Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District / First Fighter Wing Air Combat Command
Location: Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA
Completion: 2004
Provided facility site master planning recommendations to accommodate the arrival of the first three operational squadrons of F-22 Raptors at Langley Air Force Base. The study outlined facility siting for 12 new buildings, parking and roadway modifications, airfield improvements, utility upgrades and phasing requirements. The scope of the study and the existing context required the design team to approach the problem at the overall base planning level and individual facility level. In compliance with 1FW objectives, the development plan located operational and training facilities in a pedestrian, campus-like layout within the developed flight line area.
