The school system’s goal was to design a facility that combined current educational philosophies with the flexibility to meet future trends. In-depth interviews with school staff resulted in “school within a school" design. The two-story academic area is broken down into four smaller “houses” for 500-600 students, giving students, teachers and administrators a small school community within the larger environment. The flexible design allows future operations to designate the houses by grade level, departments or a combination that supports the educational goals.
